Law and Order: SVU
Season 3
Drama
1/2
I took a break halfway through so I don't remember all the details clearly. As usual, I liked how they approached a lot of topics. The thing that made me step back was everyone putting their jobs on the line for what they deem as justice. I understand why they did it, but as an autistic rule-follower it hurt to watch. It got good again at the end and I loved the episode with Henry Winkler.
Absolution
Muse
Alternative Rock

I've gotten into Muse lately and this is the second full album I've listened to. The vocals are truly amazing and I love the instrumentals. The tracks are all so beautiful and rich, and usually I prefer upbeat songs but I loved the slower songs.
Favorite songs: Sing for Absolution, Stockholm Syndrome, Hysteria, and Ruled by Secrecy
The Moon on a Rainy Night 1-3
Kuzushiro
Romance
1/2
This is a sweet story about hearing loss and coming out, but I don't find myself wanting to return to it. I tend to prefer more grounded characters, but most of the romance manga I've read so far is very unrealistic. Everything is very exaggerated, and in case of stories I enjoy, I don't mind. Unfortunately this story isn't one that really stuck with me.
Swiss Army Man
Daniel Scheinert/Daniel Kwan
Comedy/Fantasy
1/2
I missed this one when I was in my Paul Dano kick a few years ago. This was hilarious and sweet and sad. I loved seeing the hope in Hank and the bond he grew with Manny. There were many funny parts but it was also heartfelt and real. Side note- Paul Dano is one of my favorite actors and one of the most attractive men I've ever seen on screen.
The Husky and His White Cat Shizun
Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou
Fantasy
DNF'd at page 258
I really liked the premise and the storytelling of this one, but the sexual assault and minor/adult relationship was too much for me and I just felt icky reading it. This has sparked interest in Chinese literature though, and I loved the translation notes. I've picked up some more danmei to give it another try.
The House in the Cerulean Sea
TJ Klune
Fantasy

This was another bookstore find I picked up a while back and didn't read until recently. I wasn't sure how interested I would be in the story at first, but I found myself not wanting to stop reading. I stayed up extra late to finish it, and I cried at the end. It was such a sweet story about found families and escaping a life you hate.
A Dark and Drowning Tide
Allison Saft
Romance/Fantasy

I picked this book up at a bookstore after hearing it come up in a recommendation. I will admit, I read this right after surgery so I was pretty out of it and I don't remember too many details. It was an easy book to get into, and the magic was simple but fun. I'm such a sucker for rivals to lovers so I loved the relationship between Lorelai and Sylvia.
The Road
Cormac McCarthy
Science Fiction

This was a book I read for a science fiction class I took recently. This was the last book I read, and out of the last 3 I had to read, it was the only one I actually finished. I enjoyed this one, and I really liked the writing style. It was sad, and slow at times, but I really liked the connection between the boy and the father. I'm a big fan of apocalyptic environments, so I enjoyed how this book got into it.
